Residential Tile Overlay Covered Porch and Patio in Greer, SC
Cream Large-Format Stamped Tile Pattern
Multi-Section Outdoor Overlay Across Covered Porch and Curved Patio
Zachary Daniel Concrete finished a large multi-section outdoor living space in Greer, South Carolina with a cream-toned large-format stamped concrete overlay — a tile pattern scaled up to 24-inch-plus rectangles that gives the covered porch and curved side patio the look of natural stone tile without the cost or the setting challenges of real stone or porcelain. The project covered two connected outdoor surfaces: a substantial covered porch with white columns, wood-look tongue-and-groove ceiling, and recessed lighting — exactly the kind of designed outdoor living space that deserves a floor with the same level of intention — and a curved adjacent patio area that transitions around a raised brick planter and wraps the side yard.
ZDC applied a polymer-modified cement overlay across every surface, working the material around the curves, column bases, and a floor drain in the field without breaking the tile grid. A large-format tile stamp was pressed into the wet overlay to create the rectangular grid joints, and a natural stone texture was worked into each tile face to give the surface the visual depth and character that makes overlay tile read like the real thing rather than a printed pattern. A UV-stable exterior sealer locked the cream color in for outdoor durability and easy cleaning across all sections.
The result is a cohesive outdoor living floor that reads like natural stone tile from every angle and holds up to the sun, rain, and foot traffic of a busy Upstate backyard.
