Zachary Daniel Concrete installed 525 square feet of Tidal Wave epoxy flake in a residential basement art studio in Greenwood, South Carolina — a fresh, cool-toned blend of true blue, dark blue, gray, and white that gives the new construction basement the kind of finished floor a dedicated creative space deserves.

The homeowner is in the middle of a full basement buildout and wanted a floor that was in as fast as possible, looked great, and held up to the daily demands of a working art studio. The slab had construction debris all over it — spackle mud and job-site residue from the ongoing buildout. ZDC's crew ground the floor to strip everything off the surface and leave a mechanical profile the coating could bond to, then ran multiple vacuum passes and a solvent wipe to pull every trace of dust and contamination before a single drop of coating went down. With the slab squeaky clean and profiled, the epoxy base coat went down across the full 525 square feet, the Tidal Wave flake was broadcast into the wet coating to rejection, and the excess was scraped into corners, vacuumed up, and reclaimed. A two-coat top coat system — a sealer followed by a high-wear urethane coat — finished the floor for the chemical resistance an art studio needs: paint, solvents, and cleaning chemicals that would wear down a standard top coat don't penetrate urethane the same way. The whole 525 square feet was done in about six hours. Fresh, inviting, and built for the work being done in it.
