Multi-Color Slate Patio and Circular Flagstone Fire Pit — Two-System Outdoor Living Complex in Fountain Inn

Zachary Daniel Concrete finished a complete outdoor living complex in Fountain Inn, South Carolina using two complementary concrete overlay systems — a large multi-color slate-look rectangular patio connected to a circular flagstone fire pit area, both finished in the same warm earth-tone palette so the space reads as one cohesive outdoor environment rather than two separate projects. The main patio runs from the covered porch out toward the outdoor kitchen with its natural stone fireplace and grill station — a large rectangular field finished in a running bond overlay with warm tan, rust, and cool gray color variation between individual "tiles," giving the surface the depth and character of multi-color natural slate without the cost, the setting bed, or the maintenance of real stone.Connecting to it is the circular fire pit patio — a curved slab built around a central built-in fire pit, finished in a large irregular flagstone overlay with a gray, taupe, and buff antiquing that picks up the same tones as the main patio and ties the two areas together.

ZDC worked the overlay around the curves of the circular section, accommodating the fire pit opening within the pattern without breaking the flagstone layout. UV-stable exterior sealers locked both systems in for outdoor durability across foot traffic, heat from the fire pit, and the weather Fountain Inn sees through all four seasons.

The result is a backyard that functions like a full outdoor room — formal patio for dining and grilling, fire pit circle for evening gatherings — all connected by surfaces that look like they were designed together from the beginning.
