Residential Metallic Epoxy Garage Floor in Greenville, SC
Custom Metallic Finish for a Garage Built Around a Show Car
Zachary Daniel Concrete installed a custom metallic epoxy floor in a residential garage in Greenville, South Carolina, just off Pelham Road, for a homeowner planning to park a show-quality car on it.
Metallic epoxy is the most demanding coating system ZDC installs — with no broadcast media like flake or sand to hide imperfections, the substrate has to be effectively perfect. On this job, the slab outgassed heavily during the first primer coat, releasing vapor through the fresh epoxy and leaving the surface peppered with bubbles. Rather than push through and accept a flawed result, the ZDC crew came back the next morning, sanded the primer down, patched every hole and low spot, and re-primed the entire floor at roughly double the usual thickness — about 20 mils instead of the standard 10 to 12 — to lock the substrate down and create the dead-flat, sealed canvas a metallic floor requires. With the corrected primer cured, the team came back to lay the metallic coat itself: a tinted base worked by hand with metallic pigments to create depth, movement, and a one-of-a-kind pattern, followed by a high-build clear top coat.
The result is a garage floor that looks like polished stone and is finished to the standard a high-end car deserves. Call Zach at (864) 770-8608 if you have a garage worthy of this kind of finish.
