Custom Epoxy Flake Garage Floor in Travelers Rest, SC

800 Sq Ft Shop Garage — Smoked Gray Flake with Flexible Joint Fill

Zachary Daniel Concrete installed an 800-square-foot custom epoxy flake floor in a shop garage in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, finished in a smoked gray blend chosen to keep the space bright alongside the homeowner's light walls. This garage is going to do real work — cars, shop projects, weekend wrenching, the full multi-use space — so the floor needed to handle traffic and tools while looking like part of a designed room, not a utility surface.

The ZDC crew started the way they start every flake job: cleaning out every control joint and backfilling with a flexible joint filler. The flexible fill is a technical detail most contractors skip or get wrong — it doesn't repair the joint or stop it from moving, but it creates a seamless top surface that's easier to clean (no more shop vac in every crack) and reads as a single continuous floor instead of a tile grid. As the filler cured, the team ground the field and worked the joints flush so everything ended up dead flat.

From there it was the standard ZDC flake build: prep, base coat, broadcast the smoked gray flake to rejection, scrape and vacuum, then lock everything in with a durable top coat. The result is a bright, seamless, easy-to-clean garage floor designed for someone who actually uses their garage. Call Zach at (864) 770-8608 if you have a shop garage that needs the same treatment.
